Artizan Music Podcazt 004

I’m back to butter your ears hosting the Artizan Music Podcazt. I slapped down a pretty ‘out-there’ house mix and round it off by having Pete Dafeet (Lost My Dog) do a 30 minute guest mix. Check it out on iTunes or on Artizan.

Uptownboogiedown at the Brick House Feb 20th

Click for Flyer.

Blasty Blast off into 2010 with the first Uptownboogiedown of the year. We’re throwing our cocktail sausages into the air and flapping them about on February 20th at the Brick House on Brick Lane. It’s going to be dope, so get in touch with me for some guest-list action. There’s even an option to hook up some beds for 10 people with waitress service. Or beds with service by 10 waitresses? Not sure which one, but either way, it sounds damn good. Tables are also an option. Get in touch.

Jafar, Maxime Cescau, Deporto, Toby Phickle and Pej will be providing the evenings delights.

Check the Artizan Site for more details.
Check the Facebook Event.

iPhone Application

I’m currently working on a pretty exciting project with my buddies Peter Szewczyk and Sven Steinbauer. It’s an animated childrens storybook based on a character called Paco Bongo. I’m doing all the music and sound effects for it. Will keep you posted on more info on this site.

Demarkus Lewis & Maxime Cescau

Demarkus and I got together shortly after he relocated to London and goofed off in my studio in Dalston.
We never really thought about releasing the tracks we cooked up, but when I played them to Jafar, who co-runs Artizan Music with me, he loved them. Thus the ‘Tussy Pickler’ EP was born. Released on Artizan as ARTMD009, it was extremely well received and still continues to surprise even Demarkus and I. You should also check out the Remix of Rogiers ft. Bilal that Demarkus and I did.
Check it through the Soundcloud player below and if you dig it. Why not buy it?

Sun On My Cock

Maxime Cescau / DJ / Producer

This DJ Mix was recorded over the weekend where temperatures in London reached over 33 degrees Celsius. Never in the history of Great Britain has there been a higher consumption of Transylvanian Palinka in one weekend. Most of it, in my garden.

“There’s nothing better in this heatwave than putting on your favorite pair of Y-Fronts, strapping on your gun belt complete with a tall bottle of fruit brandy at your hip, moving your speakers outside and blasting a dj mix together. House Music mixed with the screams of your neighbors. That’s summer in London for me.”

Hope you like it. Stream or download below.

Uptownboogiedown with Pépé Bradock

YES, Sexy Magic Dance People!
July 10th is going to be titillating.
Yet another UTBD at East Village with very special guest, Pépé Bradock.

Pépé is releasing a remix album on BBE Records entitled ‘Confiote de Bits’ (Cover art on flyer) and to celebrate he is gracing us with his presence for this very, very special UTBD.

Jafar and I will, of course, be rocking our usual vogue for all you cream dreamers, so fear not!

The deco lounge will be hosted by ‘Drop The Bomb’ residents Amy Dissident and Mr. P selecting leftfield, disco and boogie nuggets.

You would be a fool to miss this one. It’s a very special and rare appearance by one of France’s House Legends.

Flat Girl by Toast Burglar

So this is a bit of a special one!
As some of you know, I recently lost a terabyte of data on my studio drive. It pinches. Pinches hard. Pretty much means that everything I’ve done since moving to the UK is gone.
It sucks.

I did however, today, manage to find an old live set that the Toastburglars (Maxime Cescau and Pete Nawara) performed in front of a packed, sweaty, horny club crowd at Rhubarb in Paris circa 2006. It’s a 20 minute instrumental hip-hop/downtempo performance. I hope you like it.

Because we love you and you love us, we decided to give away our Poussez Remix of Jafar & Touch ‘What is Love’.
It’s a fantastical interpretation of the original that sadly never saw the light of day, because…
Well, because we are lazy and were doing more important stuff. Naturally. So here it is. Enjoy!

Uptownboogiedown with Atjazz

I’m back in the donkey saddle behind the knobs and faders on May 15th at East Village. We’re also officially launching Artizan Soul, our label subsidiary, that day. It’s going to be a special ride with guest Atjazz and of course your resident superheros!

After serving his time in the house scene, Andy Touchfingers was ready for something different. Whilst Jafar and I still fully embraced the tougher more techier side of house, Andy fell out of love with it. Thus Artizan Soul was born. Andy will be heading up the preceedings with a small but dedicated team of fellow soulsters as a subsidiary of Artizan Music.

We look forward to drinking their brain juices. Magic.

Mulletover

Easter Sunday April 12th sees London party crew MULLETOVER’s much anticipated 5th Birthday. That’s five years of superb, rammed to the rafters, warehouse parties in unusual and unannounced spaces. From Ibiza to London, Woodland to Grassland, Lovebox to Ministry, they, like fine wines, just get better with age…

April 12th profiles another stellar lineup and easily one of the best party offerings for London’s Easter Weekend. Programming a first-rate mix of heady techno, futuristic house, electronic beats, nu-disco and re-edits across 3 rooms, Mulletover join forces with leading ‘Voice of the underground’ – webmasters Resident Advisor in Room 2, whilst, UK House imprint Artizan Music bring their popular ‘Uptownboogiedown’ session to Room3.

Joining resident Geddes in the Mulletover Room then, are Romanian minimal dons Pedro and Rhadoo, hotly tipped by Luciano, Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos as the future faces of techno. Size Doesn’t Matter’s Simon Kurrage rounds the package off nicely for a tasty menu of fresh and pioneering techno sounds.

In Resident Advisor’s Room, re-edit King Greg Wilson headlines with his trademark reel2reels, support comes from Noze and Linkwood family, promising a totally leftfield excursion into the distant corners of dance music’s scope.

On the deeper, electronic tip in the Uptownboogiedown room, Parisian producer du jour and the man behind the Deeply Rooted label, Dj Deep, flies in to join residents, label heads and well-loved producers, Jafar & Maxime Cescau (AKA Poussez). Warming up proceedings, is promising young talent Emile Carstens who proved a big hit at UTBD’s xmas party last year.

Enough there to whet the appetites of old friends, new faces and future revellers. Mulletover welcome one and all to celebrate 5 years of success with more fun-filled times…

Tickets: £8-£12 adv ticketweb.co.uk / residentadvisor.net / £15 on the door
